SceneWeaver
A focused desktop writing environment for novelists, screenwriters, and long-form storytellers.
SceneWeaver is what we make when we ask: what would a writing application feel like if it were designed to stay out of your way?
It's a single-window desktop application that holds an entire manuscript — scenes, characters, locations, items, and organisations — and lets you move between them without breaking your flow. No browser tabs. No syncing wheel. No waiting for the cloud to catch up.
- Scene-based outliner with drag-and-drop reordering. Restructure chapters and scenes in seconds without ever breaking your prose.
- Built-in tracking for characters, locations, items, and organisations. Find every mention of a person or place in one click — no more flipping through chapters to check what colour someone's hair is.
- Corkboard, timeline, and writing-coach views. Plan and pace your story visually before you commit a single word to prose.
- Reports for statistics, readability, character and location usage, repeated phrases, and style. Spot pacing issues, overused phrases, and continuity gaps before your readers do.
- Full-screen focus mode. Hide every panel and write without distraction.
- Author notes and continuity checks. Leave notes to yourself that are excluded from exports by default. Let SceneWeaver flag continuity slips before a reader spots them.
- Restore points and snapshot comparison. Try a brave revision without fear — roll back to an earlier version if it doesn't work out.
- Exports to Word (.docx), PDF, ePub, HTML, Markdown, LaTeX, plain text, and Fountain. Send your manuscript to any reader, editor, or publisher in the format they ask for.
- Built-in spell-check for UK and US English. Catch typos in your native dialect before they reach an editor's desk.
- Your work stays on your machine. No cloud uploads, no surveillance, no data breach to worry about.
- Pay once, no subscription. Own the version you bought; no monthly squeeze and no forced upgrades.
Coming in version 2
SceneWeaver v2 is in active development. It will be the first release with optional paid tiers (Student and Pro) alongside a continuing Free tier — same complete feature set, capped at three simultaneous manuscripts. Existing version 1 users may stay on version 1 forever and never pay.
Known additions include:
- Image library. Drop pictures into any scene and have them appear correctly in every exported format.
- Light, dark, and high-contrast themes. Match the editor to your eyes, your room, and the time of day.
- Single-instance protection. Open SceneWeaver from any shortcut without risking two copies fighting over the same manuscript.
